2020: The Beginning

Before Reconic, there was Royal Gaming. Founder and CEO LethalLion started our journey with one Brawl Stars club: Royal Lions.

“Once the COVID-19 pandemic hit, everything became so isolated and disconnected, and I personally just played even more video games. That is what ultimately led to Royal Gaming where we made many more clubs, started a Discord server, and built a fantastic staff team”

Prior to our rebrand, RL was thriving as a large Discord server built on our strong community. In addition to a number of community events, we also hosted events though Game.TV known as the Community Brawl League, or CBL, and even hosted our own league known as Royal Brawl League (RBL)

2022: First Impact

We eventually rebranded to Reconic in early 2022 to build a better sense of professionalism and inspire our venture into esports. A combination of the words “iconic” and “regal” coming from our royal roots, the name Reconic was born with the imposing black, navy, and gold color scheme we know today.

In our first year of operation, RCN made instant impact in the Brawl Stars Esports scene. We entered the year with our first team: Reconic Esports SESA. After a series of tough matchups, we qualified for our first monthly final, and three more after that with this team through a series of roster changes until the team disbanded in July.

In August, we made a bold move to return to our home base: North America. Signing the crew, the first iteration of Reconic Esports NA came out swinging 4 monthly finals appearances in the second half of the BSC season and a top 6 finish in the Snapdragon Pro Series S2 finals.

Eyes shifted to a third region: the Chinese Mainland. RCN picked up regional titans White, imp, and Goodnight joined by newcomer Koalano. With this roster, we attended the Brawl Stars World Finals 2022, our first ever World Championship in our first year of operation. Due to circumstances surrounding visas and the pandemic, we were unfortunately unable to compete at the level we wanted to, but are proud of the efforts made nonetheless.

2023: A Fresh Start

Following our successes in 2022, RCN came out swinging in 2023 with two rosters. We’ve always had an eye for upcoming talent, and these two rosters were no exception.

RCN NA was a force to reckon with in NA West, one of the newly introduced subregions. They placed third in the BSC season just short of LCQ with two grand finals appearances, and earned themselves a top 6 in the ESL season to end the year.

Down in South America, RCN SA was crushing it. Their explosive performances were met with some setbacks, but their perseverance eventually propelled us to our first ever Monthly Final victory. With 5 grand finals under their belt, they came into one of the toughest groups at the 2023 BSC LCQ as the second seed from SA West versus former world champions. Their fire didn’t stop there though, as they secured a stunning 2-1 score in their group, besting titans of Brawl in their first LAN ever. Although we fell just short of the finish line from qualifying to the world finals, this fueled us for the year to come.

We also added a score of new talent to our team in 2023. Creators like Synergy, Raymo, Tatofox9, and Carrascosa all joined us on our journey to push the boundaries of mobile esports.
